Camping, Glamping, or just going 'eco', a self catering holiday at the Green Mountain Yurt will offer you every comfort and space to enjoy the fabulous region of the Alpujarras on the southern slopes of Granada's Sierra Nevada.

Imagine sleeping under the stars in a custom made yurt, waking up to the sound of sheep bells and the rustle of the breeze in the trees.  With fabulous views and an abundance of nature, a holiday in The Green Mountain Yurt is an unforgettable experience.

The Green Mountain Yurt is a carefully crafted dwelling based on a Mongolian style of tent but adapted for the climate of southern Spain and for those who wish to enjoy a glamping and camping holiday in comfort.  Made by a local company based in Cadiar, The Yurt Workshop, our yurt is constructed from Spanish chestnut wood made into a strong frame and fitted with a fire retardant canvas cover and a thick wool felt lining to keep it warm when it is cool outside and to keep it cool inside when the sun is shining.

Two large double glazed windows along with front door and transparent sky light ensure that the interior is light and airy, whilst a powerful Jotul log burning stove means there is never any need to feel the cold once inside this special canvas palace.  To complete the comfort there is a full sized double bed  with a two seater sofa and a small table for dining.

Inside, the yurt is furnished with everything you would expect from a comfortable hotel:

 - Full sized double bed, with two side tables;

 - Dining table with two chairs;

 - Comfortable two seater sofa;

 - Log burning stove;

 - Solar powered lighting;

 - Assorted rugs, cushions and soft furnishings;

- Wooden storage trunk and  fabric lined boxes for your clothes.

It has a smart glazed front door and two large double glazed windows to let the light in and keep the weather out.  Mosquito netting screens over the door, window and roof vent ensure trouble free nights.

 The maximum height of the yurt in the centre is 2.74 metres, and the area of the room is nearly 19 metres squared.

Outside you have a large area of garden plus vegetable patch for your enjoyment, with out door furniture and sun loungers.  You will also have exclusive use of the Green Mountain Yurt Shack.  This is a timber construction that provides you with a shaded outdoor kitchen raised on a wooden deck.  Here you will find all the equipment you need for a fully self catering holiday:

Kitchen

 - Crockery, plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery;

 - Pots and pans and various utensils;

 - Sink with hot and cold running water;

 - Stainless steel work unit plus additional shelving;

 - Electric induccion hob;

 - Electric powered fridge;

 - Food storage containers.

 - Electric power socket for charging devices.

Bathroom

To one end of the 'Yurt Shack' you will find the Green Mountain Yurt 'Eco' Bathroom.  This is an enclosed room that has a shower, washbasin and a dry compost toilet.  Manufactured in Sweden this clever toilet will allow you to break free of mains drainage by employing a dry composting method to deal with the that most delicate of matters. Power

Hot water is provided in the kitchen and bathroom via a dedicated solar panel, and there is a basic lighting system in the bathroom, kitchen and yurt interior via a solar power system.  There is a supply of electricy for the fridge and for you to charge up any devices you may have.  

At the main house, there is a wifi connection.
