A fantastic opportunity to stretch your mental and creative powers with a week of experimental writing with Mandy Wheeler.  Project run in conjunction with Casa Ana of Ferrierola, and Curious House  courses, UK.

A full immersion in creative writing, inspired by our peaceful landscape.  This course encourages 'improvistion on paper', not so much making things up as letting them out.  It's a simple practice, somethimes silly, sometimes serious, that gets to the heart of creativity and we we sometimes block our self expression.  With years of experience working to ocax creativity out of hiding, many will help you eplore your imagination.  She'll encourage you to develop spontaneity and a sense of ease in your writing so that you can hear your inner voice and access your unique angle on the world.

Many will also invite you to take your ideas for a walk.  Many great thinkers were also great walkers, an activity know to benefit reflection and creativity.  Each day we'll explore a part of this beautiful area, looking for inspriation in the filds of the landscape.  Having allowed our imagination to roam we will return to base an experiment with ways to craft our ideas.

Midweek we'll visit to delightful gardens at Cortijo Opazo and enjoy a fabulous meal cooked by William and Robert, owners of Cortijo Opazo.  Mandy will run a light writing session in the gsarden, surronded by the sights and scents of nature.

On another day we will be taken for a walk in the high mountains, also by Robert and William, and enjoy a riverside picnic and a chance to explore one of the historic white villages of the Alpujarras.

This course marks the launch of Adventures in Creativity, a joint project.

Accommodation can either be at the lovely Casa Ana bed and breakfast in Ferrierola - which will also be the base for the group and many of the classes - or couples can choose to stay in a fully furnsihed apartment at Cortijo Opazo.  This is obviously ideal for couples who both wish to participate on the course, but in particular for couples where one of you wishes to attend the course but the other wants to do his/her own thing.  (Special price available for non-particpating guests).

Mandy Wheeler

Mandy is a writer and radio director who has spent her career working in the creative industries. For twenty years she ran the award-winning production company, Mandy Wheeler Sound Productions. As a writer she works across commercial and creative writing: prose, scripts, ads, books, she’s done the lot. She teaches creative practice at a number of universities including Falmouth and Lincoln, and works as a writing and presentation tutor for commercial companies including Penguin Random House and Mind Gym. Her work draws on her training in improvisation, clowning and storytelling, with a focus on developing spontaneity and removing blocks to creative expression.
